The KY-LOC and KY-RAY sensor families introduce a new approach to the sensor market, combining robustness and attractive pricing with outstanding features and simple interfacing for quick integration in IoT environments.

Kymati Radar devices are based on the 61 GHz band with innovative MIMO antenna arrays, enabling redundant measurements and opening yet unknown fields of applications due to unprecedented technical and commercial features.

Radar, by nature, is ideally suited for applications under harsh weather conditions and in dusty areas, with no maintenance or adjustment after initial commissioning. The high resolution allows cost-effective, yet very precise sensor results.   

 

Differentiation between Primary and Secondary Radar

The KY-RAY sensors are all based on sending electromagnetic waves and receiving the reflections of these signals from passive objects within the field of view. This is the definition of Primary Radar.

The units of the KY-LOC family deploy the exchange of active Radar signals between the units, in order to use the communication to derive distances and speeds. This active Radar signal exchange is called Secondary Radar.

The module (10x10 cm) has an integrated antenna array generating a 3D field of view with a detection range of up to 150m, depending on Radar Cross Section (RCS) of targets within reach. Detailed specification is subject to coordination with OEM client.
